This is a painting of a Halloween scene
at Baltimore's biggest gay bar. I used to go there on Halloween because it was strange, intense, surrealistiore AIDS took
over and destroyed so many creative people. I began working on this painting in 1986. It was the first painting in which
I used powder pigments, begun during my brief but significant study at Baltimore's Schuler School. Let's see if you
can find: 1. The baldheaded bride with a penis bouquet 2. Lesbian toilet and scubbrush 3. A lighthouse guiding
in a ship 4. Whorey-looking Transvestite Nun chatting with a virtually nude Egyptian 5. A raisin enviously eyeing a ripe fruit
bowl 6. Schubert with an anteater on his head 7. The Tin Man frightened by a dominatrix 8. a disgruntled 12. A Brillo pad
with dishes 13. Siamese Village Idiots 14. the man with an acute oral fixation 15. Christina and Joan 16. Fishman pursued
by Fishwife 17. a popcorn fool 18. The African Queen 19. an artist with three noses 20. The Swamp Thing 21. Beethoven 22.
me 23. Christmas Tree 24. and a cast of dozens
