This is the image from which the steps are based, originally on a screen. The stairs are in Darlene Cook's home office, "Resumes and Beyond", 609 South Belnord, in Canton. When Darlene asked me to do it, she came to the right person because I want the commissioned work I do to be unusual.

Ask yourself, before you scroll down, how would you do it? Try to imagine this image transferred onto a stairway. This is the very beginning of the tranfer of images. Darlene and her very Great Dane Diva would sequester themselves upstairs. Since she works out of her home the only good way to get these steps done was at night when she and the monster dog were asleep.

So I worked from 8pm til 6am. Fortunately I am a born night person. The marble look is under way. It's of course more intense in person. If you paint such a thing on steps, your face would be around two feet away from the steps all the time. You'd have to prop yourself up, hold on and hang off the banister while squatting on your heels etc. I had to use fast-drying paint, instead of oil because the steps would be utilized in just a few hours.
